The park will have animal friendly fittings.

Considering the long awaited demand of pet owners, Navi Mumbai will have its first dog park in next two months. It will come up within Veer Savarkar Municipal Garden at sector 8 in Vashi.

The proposed project is part of the existing 10,000-sq.ft. Veer Savarkar   Udyan, of which approximately 870 sq.ft. will be converted into the dog park. It will be fitted with special equipments and estimated to cost little more than Rs 29.4 lakh. As per the concerned Municipal corporation officials, it is expected to get ready in next two months.

The park will have animal friendly fittings like see-saw, slopes, hurdles, balancing beam, stepping paws. There will also be a water station and seating area for pet owners. To ensure the area is clean, poop bins too have been proposed.

The move is welcomed by animal activists of the area. Anajana Sen said “ The dog park will provide quality time to the pet owners and their furry friend. We hope that this initiative is welcomed and executed by every city in the country”.
