Forget avengers, Super Troopers and Rampage 2018 had been a year of Dogs in Hollywood. With almost eight dog movies hitting the charts, the year was dedicated to our canine friend. Most of these were comedy fiction movies with dogstars in lead. Not only they acted astonishingly but stole the show at the end.
Isle of Dogs
Movie based on backdrop of Japan it is a stop motion animated science fiction comedy drama written, produced and directed by Wes Anderson. The story follows a young boy searching for his dog after the species is banished to an island following the outbreak of canine flu.
Dog days
Elizabeth is a charming anchorwoman who seeks advice from her dog’s therapist. Tara is a spunky barista who dreams of a life beyond the coffee shop. Daisy is a dog walker who’s enamored with a client. Garrett pines for a woman while trying to keep his adopt-a-dog business afloat. The beloved canines in their lives soon start to influence their careers, friendships and romantic relationships in funny and unexpected ways.
Show Dogs
An American buddy cop comedy film. The movie is based on Rottweiler police dog and his human partner who go undercover at a prestigious dog show to stop an animal smuggling activity. Cop Dog named Max attempts to rescue a baby Panda from being sold by animal smuggling ring.
Benji
Based on the series of theatrical features the film centers a golden mixed breed dog Benji. American family drama film is directed by Brandon camp. The film was released by Netflix in March last year.
Patrick
British live action family comedy film revolves around a young woman named Sarah. Her life changes when her grandmother gives her possession of a spoilt Pug named Patrick. Her chaotic life becomes more complicated after the inheritance.

Not only humans but canines too can act well. This was evident in this movie where five year old Czechoslovakian Wolfdog has played the character of a wolf. American historical adventure film revolves around a young hunter who befriends an injured wolf during last ice age.
Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero
Computer animated adventure film centering on the real life of Sergeant Stubby, a stray Boston Terrier who becomes hero during World War I. With world war looming young U.S. army doughboy has his life forever changed when a little dog with a stubby tail wanders into camp.
The Grinch
3D computer animated Christmas movie revolves around a creature Grinch and his loyal dog, Max. They live a solitary existence inside a cave on Mount Crumpet. His main source of aggravation comes during Christmas time when his neighbors in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch realizes there is one way to gain peace and quiet. With help from Max, the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos’ holiday.
